FBI to fight against cyber terrorism with hackers

FBI, one of the most elite criminal investigative unit, is now hiring “Ethical Hackers” to fight with cyber criminals and hackers. FBI to battle hackers wants team members who think alike and for that reason it is proactively hiring hackers to bring them aboard.

“Cyber permeates every aspect of what we do, whether it’s counterterrorism, criminal investigations or traditional cyber-attacks, as we’ve seen in the recent past,” the FBI said.

After recent hacking of Sony Pictures and threat over the movie “The Interview”, which FBI believe took place from North Korea. Robert Anderson Jr. who is the executive assistant for the bureau’s criminal, cyber, response and services branch mentioned “The FBI seeks highly talented, technically trained individuals who are motivated by the FBI’s mission to protect our nation and the American people from the rapidly evolving cyber threat.”

The vacancy is open until January 20, 2015 and they are hiring several “Cyber Special Agents”. These agents will require to have necessary skills to conduct multifaceted investigations of high-tech crimes, cyber terrorism, online exploitation, cyber fraud schemes, and computer hacking.

FBI will prefer those that have certification in ethical hacking. They annual salary will range from $59,340 to $76,568. Apart from that the cyber special agents will require to pass the background check and fitness test like any other FBI special agents and the age requirement is between 23 years to 37 years.

Other requirement for the job includes four-year degree from an accredited college or university with preference to those in digital and computer forensics, applied and computational mathematics and computer information systems.

IT companies hire ethical hackers to bypass their own computer security systems and to locate the vulnerable points to fix and avoid exploitation by malicious hackers.
